In February 2003, SC LEARNING, a division of Standard Chartered Bank, was looking for a vendor to supply and install a Web-based Education Portal Services System and the related services to fulfill its business objectives. SC LEARNING recognized that the affiliate banks and potential banking employees in Hong Kong were poised to exploit online ecommerce to screen, select and interface with Specialized Banking Education service providers. Consequently, SC LEARNING wished to enter this market to rapidly capture awareness through a highly visible and interactive website and building an ecommerce portal that would seamlessly provide online students with the information and communication capabilities with Learning Administrators and Instructors. The goal was to offer a differentiated service that is convenient, consumer friendly and highly trusted.
Web Synergies' WS-EduPortal and consulting services were then selected. Financialcareerinsitute.com's portal (www.financialcareerinstitute.com), the new service from SCL, was successfully launched in June in Hong Kong and is now being extended to the Asia-Pacific region.
This mission was a significant breakthrough for Web Synergies as it perfectly illustrates the company's ability to marry business consulting with innovative technology development.
